Cable ties for use in water

Cable tie guide

In general, standard nylon cable ties are suitable for use in water. However, if you want to secure objects underwater for many years, you can ensure incredibly long-lasting and secure installations by choosing the right kind of cable tie: Outdoors, cable ties may be exposed to intense UV radiation. In such cases, we recommend using special UV-resistant cable ties. Saltwater can also damage standard cable ties over time. Stainless steel cable ties made from 316 SS are resistant to saltwater and at the same time, they are UV-resistant. Finally, for use on the water’s surface, you can also use polypropylene cable ties. Due to their low density, they float on the surface. Thanks to their minimal hygroscopy, they absorb almost no water, staying durable in wet environments and underwater.
